A Family Adventure 6 days / 5 nights

Begin in Muscat at the Shangri La Hotel which offers interconnecting family rooms, an excellent kids club and a long sandy beach. Take a day trip to the Daymaniyat Islands and snorkel off the reefs there. 

After leaving Muscat you'll drive down the coast, stopping at Wadi Shab where you swim in its deep pools. Visit the picturesque town of Sur and its traditional boat yards. Arrive at Ras Al Jinz Turtle Conservation camp where you have a luxury tent. Here you get the chance to see turtles nesting and hatching with your professional guide.

The following day, you arrive at your camp in the Wahiba Sands before heading off dune bashing in your 4x4. The next day visit a Bedouin family for tea dates in the desert. Return to the camp and take a camel ride into the dunes at sunset. 
Next day, you can visit the local ruins before driving to Nizwa where you can explore the fort and the livestock market. From here you take the drive up to The View high in the Hajar Mountains. Whilst here you can opt for gentle walks through local Arabic villages.

or possibly find your inner Bradley Wiggins and set off on bikes through the countryside. Visit the Wadi Ghul - Oman's Grand Canyon which is a thousand metres deep. 
After a fascinating drive back through mountain roads taking in villages and wadis, your final three days are spent relaxing at the Shangri La Hotel.
